The celebration of World Water Day and the arrival of spring was enthusiastically marked at the daycare center, in a day full of joy, color, and unforgettable experiences for the children. Taking advantage of the good weather, the activity took place in our outdoor space, providing moments of direct contact with nature and essential stimuli for child development.
Throughout the morning, the children participated in various sensory activities carefully prepared by the educational team. Water was one of the main elements, allowing for free and exploratory play that sparked curiosity and promoted motor coordination. Amid splashes and laughter, the little ones were able to experience different temperatures and movements, stimulating their senses in a natural and fun way.
In addition, materials with varied textures were made available, such as sand, gelatin, grass, fabrics, and natural elements, encouraging sensory and tactile exploration and discovery. These experiences are fundamental at this stage of development, helping children to understand the world through their bodies and senses, and through contact with nature, aligned with the institution's pedagogical project.
There was also room for creative activities, manipulating elements of nature such as leaves and flowers, promoting artistic expression and imagination. Free games, simple circuits, and moments of group interaction also reinforced social skills and the spirit of sharing.
"Free play, rich in sensory stimulation and in contact with nature, is essential for the child's holistic development, promoting meaningful learning in a spontaneous and joyful way."
