Mais Polvoreira marked International Older Persons Day with the inauguration of its Educational Garden – Seeds of Affection
On October 1st, Mais Polvoreira celebrated International Day of Older Persons with a morning filled with emotion, sharing, and intergenerational bonding. The occasion was especially marked by the inauguration of the Educational Garden, a space created to promote active aging, contact with nature, and intergenerational learning.
The celebration brought together the Day Center users and the children of the Nursery, who shared this day, in an initiative that symbolized the cycle of life and the importance of coexistence between generations.
During the activity, children and elderly people painted and decorated the pots, made with recycled materials, and planted the first seeds together, starting a common project that aims to cultivate not only products of the land, but also values of cooperation, respect and sustainability.

Seeds of Affection
The morning also featured moments of music, socializing and sharing stories, filling the space with joy and meaning.
This special day reinforces the institution's commitment to promoting well-being, inclusion, and connection between generations, marking Senior Citizens' Day with positivity and remembering that seniors are the roots that support new generations. The stronger and more cared for they are, the stronger society is and will be.
Our elderly give meaning to the present of this Institution and guide our future, inspiring us to care with humanity, respect and gratitude.
